Still here.....

It's been a while, but I have been meaning to update the blog....just never quite seem to get round to it!
Anyway, since the last post (almost 3 months ago!), there's been plenty happening....

At the end of March, Aki and the boys had a night away in Hakone, while we also celebrated 4 years of marriage and my 33rd!

Time to get in the garden - this was Kyle's first time to sit outside at home

On a Pirate ship!

Ice Cream cake! My favourite!

In April, the weather started warming up and we enjoyed a Hanami party. It was also the beginning of the new school year, which meant Joshua moved up to the preschool class. It's been a little strange and I think a lot harder for him than me, but he's getting used to having me as his teacher. Now he's calling me Brendan at school, and Daddy at home! Joshua is the youngest in the class, but he's doing great - I can see him developing in so many ways every day!
Meanwhile, Kyle started to crawl everywhere and pull himself up on everything. He is very different to Josh in that everything he finds goes directly to his mouth. He also started eating a lot better and has been very busy with work. We were very proud to see him on the cover of Akasugu baby magazine!

This was Kyle's first time to stand up by himself with the couch

In May, the weather really got warm so we had a few more BBQ's! Joshua enjoyed his first field trip of the year at the Hikawamaru - a really big, old ship in Yokohama. Kyle started to stand by himself and climb up on the couch by himself. He's also been "talking" a lot more, and "Mama" is his first regular word. He also celebrated his 1st birthday on the 28th, but unfortunately for him he had a fever for a few days, so wasn't feeling his best :(
Josh gives Daddy's breakfast the thumbs up!

Scared Josh?

And a bread and yoghurt cake!

Which brings us to June - the rainy season has started, so we'll be stuck inside for a bit this month. Joshua had another field trip to the Nissan showroom. Kyle can now climb up the stairs so we've had to put the gate there to stop that! Josh and Kyle are starting to play together a lot more - before Joshua just got frustrated when Kyle was around his toys and would push him away, but now they have a lot more fun playing together (but there's still the odd pushing or hitting going on!) Aki and I have been playing a lot of Carcassonne (thanks Steve, for introducing us!). We just bought a couple of expansions too. Nothing big planned for the summer - just a couple of short trips, one of them will be camping for a couple of nights.
